  • Looking at travel options to get to and so far, I have realized that I would rather sit on a train for ten hours than drive to DC.

  • I just ordered a new (refurbished) laptop, which naturally comes with installed, and now the seller is trying to sell me software for it. Since I have the luxury of deciding what software I use, I’d half forgotten:
    1. That people pay for software subscriptions.
    2. How eye-wateringly expensive those subscriptions are.

    Naturally I will be installing and a bunch of applications the second I get my hands on it,

    @twistappel It's a tough sell to those who favor convenience or have just giving up on any hope of privacy. So many people believe that there's no other alternative.

    I've been m$ (my way of saying microsoft) free since 2017 and I couldn't be any happier.

    I still have to deal with m$ at work and the pain grows worse every day.
